The purpose of Electrostatic Precipitators
Finding electrostatic precipitators in Sri Lanka is not that much of a tough task if you know where to search for. Initially it was a big mess and a confusion for me as well until a colleague of mine directed me towards air flow; a ventilation Company in Sri Lanka and apparently one of the most trusted service providers in the industry.
My first and foremost question to them was to understand what an electrostatic precipitator is and how exactly it benefits me as a user. It was quite a lot of technical jargon. First we managed to come in to understanding after so many cross questions from me and trust me when I tell you they are so patient with their clients. I’m living proof !
So basically an electronic Precipitator is designed to operate in both wet and dry conditions. Simply a dry electrostatic precipitator operates above the dew point of gas steam to make it easier to clean the bacteria and other contaminants from dust and smoke. On the other hand the wet electrostatic precipitators operate with saturated airstreams where there is 100% relative humidity.
These electrostatic precipitators are absolutely necessary and are effective at minimizing the particle pollution. It is designed to operate in such a way that it can clean the most minute particles which are approximately about 1 micron in diameter. They also went on to explain to me how there are much advanced technology used in electronic Precipitators to remove contaminants that are of 0.01 micron in diameter.
The best part about these electronic precipitators are that they are quite cost effective and value for money compared to other ventilation systems in the market.
